Transportation Planning and Engineering

Transportation Engineering and Planning manages the road network and new parking lots design and construction for Virginia Tech. We coordinate road and parking lot improvements, repairs, and maintenance. We are also the main point of contact with the VA Department of Transportation (VDOT). We also work closely with Planning Design & Construction Services to coordinate construction with university transportation needs.

Services

• Coordinate road transportation changes due to campus construction projects.
• Cordinate the review of all new construction and renovation plans and recommend the best possible road transportation, alternative transportation, and parking solutions.
• Review of in field changes to plans and coordinate improvements
• Coordinate the construction of road transportation, alternative transportation, and parking improvement projects
• Work with utility improvements that affect roadways and parking lots
