Parking and traffic affected at Southgate Center and Sterrett Facility

Communication Network Services (CNS) is installing a new underground communication line near Southgate Center and the Sterrett Facility in order to improve bandwidth capabilities to the surrounding buildings. Please see the map of the affected areas (PDF).

The construction work for this project will generally be 8am - 5pm on weekdays beginning Monday, May 12 through Friday, May 23. All efforts will be made to avoid disruptions and complete the work in a timely manner.

Some parking alongside of Southgate Center and Sterrett Facility will be displaced during construction, and at times entrances to the lots may be closed. However, only one entrance will be closed at a time. Please let us know if there are any special circumstances in which the entrances cannot be closed.

Those who normally park at Southgate Center and Sterrett Facility are urged to park in the Maintenance Lot (across from Southgate) and the Stadium Lot.

If possible, please avoid the construction zone. There will be some trenching which may need to be left open overnight. The trenching will be enclosed by construction barriers, but please continue to use extreme caution if you must be in the area.
