Office of the University Building Official
The Office of the University Building Official provides technical engineering and code related support throughout all phases of a capital project. The office provides in-house engineering expertise in several areas; and serves as the primary liaison with outside regulatory agencies, working closely with them on code issues that affect the design, construction, and ultimately the approval to occupy a new university facility. Also within the office's responsibilities are managing a building commissioning program, and coordinating university input into the Virginia Tech Design Guidelines and Construction Standards.
