Office of University Planning
The Office of University Planning is responsible for the long-term planning of the university and the management of its space.
The Office of University Planning is comprised of three units:
- Architecture/Planning - Provides professional guidance and leadership to the long-range planning of Virginia Tech's building environment as it relates to all functions of design including master plans, public art, building design, signage, ADA planning, and all other elements in support of the university's mission and strategic vision.
- Real Estate Management - Oversees real estate functions on behalf of the university. The unit is responsible for the granting and acquiring of easements on university property, the acquisition and conveyance of university property, the preparation of Facility Use Agreements, the arrangement of employee housing agreements, and leasing on behalf of the university.
- Site Planning and Development - Provides professional guidance and leadership for the long-range planning of Virginia Tech's physical environment to include site design, site development and transportation planning, along with the design of campus landscape in support of the university's mission and strategic vision.
- Space Management - Provides effective vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the development and management of a campus wide space management policy in an effort to efficiently utilize campus physical space assets.
