Improve Campus Accessibility

ABOUT THE PROJECT

As part of the 2018 Campus Master Plan, Virginia Tech developed a comprehensive solution to enhance pedestrian pathways and improve accessibility on campus. The Division of Facilities is actively working to implement these advancements and increase accessibility across campus. The pathway from Eggleston Hall to Dietrick Hall will improve mobility, access, inclusion, and collaboration in some of the Blacksburg campus’ most heavily traversed areas.

This project targets the southeastern zone of the Blacksburg campus from Eggleston Hall to Dietrick Hall, a key pedestrian area with significant elevation variances and accessibility challenges. The plan includes installing 87,500 square feet of ADA-compliant pathways and necessary site work to manage grade changes. Through this project, essential improvements, ensuring safe and accessible pedestrian pathways across campus will be created.
