Photo of McBryde 100 Classroom

After its renovation in the summer of 2015, McBryde 100 is once again the embodiment of current thought on large auditorium style learning spaces. This project improved accessibility, technology, seating, and acoustical performance in one of the most heavily utilized classrooms on campus. A major component of the renovation was changing the slope of the floor to significantly improve accessibility and mobility for students and faculty. The project also installed new seats with integrated electrical outlets and created a new, cleaner presentation surface at the front of the room. Wood veneer ceiling and wall panels were installed to improve the acoustic qualities of the room.  In an attempt to forestall water intrusion, Hokie Stone walls were repaired and the roof membrane was replaced before the interior renovation work began.
