The Facilities Department will work closely with the sponsoring college/department, the future building user(s), and other stakeholders to achieve a successful project outcome. The department consists of a team of project managers who will provide management during all phases of a capital project from concept through occupancy.

After a new capital project is authorized and the initial planning is complete, Facilities will:

  • assign a Project Manager to lead the design and construction process and monitor the project's schedule, budget, quality, and compliance with program and quality requirements
  • provide design and construction management and construction quality assurance
  • coordinate construction activities with university operations
  • monitor specialized construction inspections/testing

The university currently uses three project delivery methods:

  • Traditional method (Design-Bid-Build)
  • Construction Management at Risk (CMAR)
  • Design-Build (D-B)
