About Us
The Office of Sustainability works to educate the Virginia Tech community about how to live a more sustainable and low-impact lifestyle through behavior change and an understanding of the impacts one’s personal actions can have on a global scale. The office works with the understanding that even the smallest behavior changes can create a more sustainable world.
The Office of Sustainability acts as a central hub to connect the many sustainability champions and efforts taking place all across campus. Creating positive change requires the input and cooperation of the entire university community. The office routinely coordinates with other departments to bring about sustainable change!

Our 2020-21 Water Team assessing the water quality of Stroubles Creek.
Selu Radford Meetup 2020
Our 2019-2020 Sustainability Interns visited Selu with the Radford Sustainability Interns to collaborate in activities and update each other on completed and ongoing campus sustainability projects.
America Recycles Day
The 2019-2020 Waste Team tabled outside Squires for America Recycles Day to teach passerby about reusing and recycling materials on and off campus.
Big Belly Stickers
Our 2019-2020 Waste Team updated the stickers on every Big Belly waste container on campus to be more informative!
Stormwater Education Day Fall 2019
Our Water Team held their biannual Stormwater Education Day in October.
2019-20 Student Internship Program
Our 2019-2020 student interns - they split up into 4 teams (Waste, Water, Food, and Energy) and tackle projects in each category to make VT more sustainable!
