2019 Earth Week Arbor Day Event

Join the Office of Sustainability in increasing tree canopy on the Virginia Tech campus on April 24, 2019 - Arbor Day!

Date and Time: April 24, 2019 from noon to 2 p.m.
Location: The Grove (President's House). Please see map below.

Virginia Tech has been a Tree Campus USA since the programs inception in 2008! Help us continue to increase tree canopy on campus! We will plant a combination of native canopy and under-story trees near The Grove. Twelve (12) native trees will be planted; Oaks (6), Blackgums (2), Hackberry (2) Dogwood (1), Redbud (1). These are restoration plantings for trees that have been lost in recent years.

Meet where the red circle is shown; look for the Tree Campus USA sign.

• Please wear closed toe shoes.
• Tools and gloves to be provided by the VT Facilities Grounds Team.
• No experience necessary! Planting instruction will be provided by staff and students who will lead planting groups.
• All members of the Virginia Tech community are invited to attend.
